International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research ISPOR India –Andhra Pradesh Regional Chapter in association with Raghavendra Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (RIPER), Anantapuramu, Andhra Pradesh; Rural Development Trust (RDT) Hospital, Anantapuramu, Andhra Pradesh and Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) Anantapuramu Local Branch organized One Day National Symposium on “Innovations in Pharmacovigilance for ensuring Drug Safety and ensuring Life” on 24th November 2016 (Thursday) at A.C auditorium, Rural Development Trust (RDT) Hospital, Anantapuramu, Andhra Pradesh.
The symposium drew nearly 225 participants from 15 reputed pharmacy institutions in India. The symposium was chaired by the executive council committee of ISPOR India –Andhra Pradesh Regional Chapter, Dr. Y. Padmanabha Reddy (Chief Patron & President ISPOR India, AP Regional Chapter), Dr. Mohanraj Rathinavelu (Convenor & Secretary and Treasurer ISPOR India, AP Regional Chapter) and Mr. Narayana. G (Organizing Secretary & Director Member ISPOR India, AP Regional Chapter). Dr. Sudheer Kumar. K, Medical Director Rural Development Trust (RDT) Hospital was the Chief Guest and Dr. Harish Handyal, Head- Department of Anaesthesia and Emergency, Director Member ISPOR India; AP Regional Chapter was the Guest of Honour.
The symposium included innovative and excellent scientific sessions on ensuring quality and safe usage of medications and significance on Pharmacovigilance and reporting systems practice in healthcare decision making, with eminent speakers; Dr. Saraswathy (Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (RUAS) Head, Pharmacological Modelling & Simulation centre, Bangalore, Karnataka., India); Dr. Ch. Sunil Babu (Consultant Physician, Head Department of General Medicine, RDT Hospital, Bathalapalli, Anantapuramu, Andhra Pradesh), Dr. Anand B. Harugeri (Associate Director & Lead, SARA, GDN Marketed Product Safety Services, Quintiles, IMS, Bangalore) and Mr. Sivakartheek Matam (Project Manager, Drug Safety services, Bioclinica Safety & Regulatory Solutions, Mysuru). At this time, with professional obligation I would thank the efforts made by the faculty team of Division of Pharmacy Practice, Raghavendra Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (RIPER), Anantapuramu, Andhra Pradesh, for their wonderful coordination’s in bringing the symposium an another mile stone of achievement and success towards ISPOR India –Andhra Pradesh Regional Chapter.
